24 Feb What do you mean it’s not my fault?
The person you are today is mostly the combination of two things:
1. Your genes
2. Your early childhood environment
In other words, your brain was created by two things you could not control. We already know that your brain was created for you not by you (see blog what’s a tricky brain, anyway?) and now we know that it has formed in a way that was out of your control.
But this doesn’t mean you can’t take responsibility for it. Or even learn how to change aspects of yourself by choosing to act and think differently.
So celebrate! It’s not your fault the way your brain has been designed by evolution. And it’s not your fault that your brain was created by things out of your control. And now we know this, we can use this as part of our bedrock of change, like our light bulb moments. This is a big part of the reason I am who I am.
